Shikasta
By Doris Lessing

‘Shikasta’ by Doris Lessing is the 1st installment of the Canopus Archives. This book of revelation is about the planet soul, called Rohanda, which is colonized by the Canopean Empire. Canopus takes extraterrestrials from other planets and places them on Rohanda with the Natives. The purpose of the extraterrestrials on the planet, is to assist with speeding up the evolution of the Natives. The extraterrestrials teach the Natives simple living skills, and breed with them to strengthen their genetics.
Establishing Energy Sources
Once the planet soul and its Natives are ready, Canopus seeks to put a link, established by alliant energy transmissions from stone formations, on the planet. This link creates pathways to freedom, through the strength and harmony of the Canopean Empire. However, the plan fails, and the consequences thereof are dire. The planet soul and its Natives find themselves exposed to the influence of Canopus’s public enemy, Puttiora.
The Battle for the Life Force of the Planet Soul
Agents of Chaos are sent to assist the Natives of Shikasta, to return to the harmony and strength of the Canopean Empire. Meanwhile Puttiora’s main colony, Shammat, takes every opportunity to contaminate the natives and the planet, with their axis of evil ways. The Natives become a shadow of the glorious beings they once were; and a subtle but prominent battle ensues to revive the collective unconscious natives of the planet. For the Tropic of Freedom Finders Keepers: For millennia mankind has told all kinds of stories, about the battle between good and evil, for the very souls of mankind. This book, for me, is an amazing interpretation of that battle.
What if it were true? What if the gods and goddesses of mythology, were simply advanced beings? What if all the stories in our religious doctrine, are symbolic interpretations of the events in this book?
What if we were the rats in a cage, interpreting what we cannot remember consciously, in symbolic form? What would you do if you found out that this was all an experiment? Like in the Matrix, when Neo finds out that the Matrix is not real. Would you try to help all the other rats to get out of the cage? Or would you pretend it was a lie and carry on like it never happened?
