Tales of Power

By Carlos Castaneda

In ‘Tales of Power’ by Carlos Castaneda, Carlos becomes a witness to acts of power. From the beginning of the book, Don Juan tells Carlos that there is a sorcerer’s explanation. However, He tells Carlos that he does not yet have enough personal power to seek the sorcerer’s explanation.

A Journey to Forever
with Masters of Reality

Carlos is then taken on the journey of the sorcerer to discover how to gather enough personal power. Carlos’s paradigms on his reality and everything in it are challenged. In this book Castaneda’s journey to forever begins with an appointment with knowledge. Then he discovers the double and finally the duel masters of reality teach him about the 2 counterparts of the human being.

Perception is Reality

All the experiences that Carlos is taken through, is a hazard perception test. He is tested to see how much personal power he has gathered. And he is being given opportunities within each test, to reclaim his life force and accumulate more personal power. Once Carlos has gathered enough personal power, he is taken through the sorcerer’s explanation.

For the Tropic of Freedom Books Finders Keepers:
How much personal power we have, has an impact on how we perceive our world and what we can do within it. The way that personal power works is, we all have it. However, even though we all have it, we all give it away. The sad thing is, we are not even aware that we are doing it. This is why it is such an important and predominant theme in this book.

Everything that we allow to impact on us, we give our power to. Everything we do not take responsibility for, we give our power to. Every time we blame or accuse someone or something outside of us, we give our power away. Every time we say ‘I can’t,’ we are giving our power away. Every time we say it is our fate or destiny, we give our power away. Those are just a few of the ways, in which we give up our personal power.

How are you giving away your personal power?
