Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
By J.K. Rowling

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is J.K. Rowling’s second contribution to the Harry Potter series. It is Harry’s second year at Hogwarts school of magic, during which a message appears on the wall claiming that the Chamber of Secrets has been re-opened. Threats are made that all children from non-magical families (those students that are muggle born) will be killed. Soon after this, students are attacked and found petrified.
Dark Magic
Throughout the year, Harry along with his friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, investigate these attacks and horror stories. As they go, the children have many buried magic secrets revealed to them. The axis of evil within the chamber and why it was forged is discovered as well.
Divine Revelation of Hell
What really stood out for me in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets was the course of the nature of discrimination and chauvinism. This is a very dark energy that causes unnecessary conflict and pain. The pure-blood witches and wizards make it quite clear, that children of non-magical heritage are not worthy to study magic spells. They even go so far as to call them 'mud-bloods', a foul name for someone who is muggle-born. For the Tropic of Freedom Books Finders Keepers: The chauvinism evident in this book had a very strong message for me.
The thing with chauvinism and separation, is that it can be used as a way to manipulate and control masses of people to serve various agendas. How does Voldemort demonstrate this in the book? The demonstration of chauvinism in this book made me think: "Fear breeds ignorance and ignorance breeds hate. Hate breeds conflict and death". How often in the history of mankind have we not allowed ourselves to learn from another race, culture or human being because of our judgment and lack of understanding? How often has it been the nature of the human being to project their own barbarism onto others because we fear them? How many people have died because of our ignorance? How many times have we not allowed ourselves to discover amazing people that cross our path because we choose to be ignorant and judgmental?
