Relationship Tests create Changes that Heal
One rainy day, Lucy finds a wardrobe in an empty room. She is curious about it and discovers that it is a doorway. This doorway leads into a kind of magic land. There she meets a faun and joins him for tea. Lucy returns through the wardrobe after a few hours. She discovers that only a few seconds have passed in England. Lucy tells her siblings about her adventure and fun but is unable to convince them.
A Betrayal of Sibling Relationships leads to Amazing Adventures
Not long afterwards, all four children scramble to avoid Mrs Macready, and end up in the wardrobe. The children find themselves on a whirlwind adventure quest. Caught up in a prophecy written about them. Edmund, who is enthralled by the witch, steals away to her castle. When the other children realise they have been betrayed they set off to find Aslan.
The Black Magic of the White Witch
Under the charismatic leadership of Aslan, Edmund is rescued from the white witch’s axis of evil. In the final battle, the witch is defeated and killed by Aslan. The children become kings and queens and reign in Narnia until adulthood. They end up returning to our world and hear Mrs Macready in the passageway. The children’s surreal life in Narnia has been only a few minutes on this side of the door. For the Tropic of Freedom Books Finders Keepers: The main theme in The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe is innocence. The innocence of a child can be very powerful. The problem is that as we grow up, our innocence is stolen from us. Lucy, being the youngest child, was the one to discover the magical land.
It is a child’s innocence that creates a child’s wonder of the world and inspires them to explore. But as we grow up, we lose that. We start to think that we know it all, we’ve experienced life so what more can there be? How does the innocence demonstrated in this book, bring about a healing among the siblings? What qualities does Lucy still have in tact, which adds to her quality of innocence and assists the healing process? Why is Edmund so susceptible to the white witch? This is directly related to the process of growing old that we all go through.
