What is a Shaman? Many would like to believe that the way of the shaman means being a strange man or woman who lives out on the fringe of society, or out in the wilder-lands, far from the maddening crowd. However, becoming a shaman is really just about acquiring access to certain knowledge and power, which allows you to communicate with a world beyond what we “think” to be real.

What is a shaman then? The shaman journey is characterized by the power that is acquired as a result of direct personal experience. This power is obtained either spontaneously or after an involuntary quest, but in either case the shaman has to undergo certain initiatory trials. These trials have nothing to do with getting dressed up as a Birdman; in fact to tap into your inner shaman you don’t have to be a Native American Shaman or a Celtic Shaman. No Fancy Dress Required…
